Give cornhole the slip

IMG_1200We’ve had a lot of interest in our cornhole boards of late – which is totally wonderful and amazing seeing as how we barely have any for sale online.  Locally, we’ve been covered up in orders, but we’ve finally gotten all the details worked out for the new design.

Now the boards simply slip together and the friction & design lock them together for easy transport.  They’re about 1/2 the overall thickness they were before and weigh less too!  They’re still regulation size, now they’re just easier to handle.

Christmas Cutoff Dates

We’re so thankful to be super busy right now with orders…both Christmas & regular, but wanted to pop in and let everyone know that after Weds night at midnight, if you want to place an order and receive it in time for Christmas, it will require a RUSH charge…so if you know you want to order…get them in now!!

A few details:
we will endeavor to ship every order (USA only) received on or before Weds, December 7th at midnight such that it will be received in time for Christmas.  However, please understand that we cannot control nor are we responsible for the USPS.  The post office says that First Class mail shipped by 12/20 and Priority Mail shipped by 12/21 are on time for Christmas delivery – we plan to ship by 12/19 (first class) and 12/20 (priority).  Unfortunately we can’t make any promises for international orders as packages can get stuck at customs.

Please check & update your Paypal shipping address as that is the address we ship to.  When submitting your order, please ensure that we have all the necessary information to complete your order {colors, name, address, etc} as lack of information will slow down your order and possibly prevent on-time delivery.

For a limited amount of time after Dec. 7th, we will accept CHRISTMAS RUSH orders with rush fees beginning at $10 for decals and $15 for signs – our workload will be monitored daily and rush fees adjusted accordingly to ensure that we can keep up with the workflow without killing ourselves or our family.

Thank you for your part in supporting our family this Christmas season!

31 Days of Intentional Living :: Day 2 Prioritize

I-10 in this home robbin

One of the most important first steps to intentional living is to know what matters to you…and by “you” I mean your family unit…none of us is an island!  In order to make decisions that line up with what’s important to you…you must be able to enunciate what’s important to you.  While family mission statements can be really neat…if you have any perfectionist tendencies at all {raises hand sheepishly} they can also become a big stumbling block…don’t over complicate here.  If your kids are too young to participate…grab a quiet moment with your spouse when you can and talk through the core values for your family…if your kids are old enough, involve them too.  You don’t have to nail it all down in one sitting…in fact, it’s something you’ll probably come back to more than once and tweak several times.  Think about your family in 50 years…where do you want to end up…what do you want your kids to remember…what will success look like…what really matters in life?

It doesn’t have to be fancy or perfect…just identify what matters to you…then we can talk more about making it count!

Day 13

Mark 13, John 13

  • Jesus answered, "You don’t understand now what I’m doing, but it will be clear enough to you later."  Peter persisted, "You’re not going to wash my feet-ever!" Jesus said, "If I don’t wash you, you can’t be part of what I’m doing."  "Master!" said Peter. "Not only my feet, then. Wash my hands! Wash my head!"  Jesus said, "If you’ve had a bath in the morning, you only need your feet washed now and you’re clean from head to toe. My concern, you understand, is holiness, not hygiene. So now you’re clean. But not every one of you.  John 13:7-10 – Peter just didn’t get it…and I’m so thankful Jesus was patient with him and loved him anyway…because I know there are plenty of times I don’t get it either.  Holiness…Jesus is concerned with MY holiness…why am I not more concerned with my holiness?  Lord, grow me…help me strive for holiness.

Day 7

Mark 7, John 7

  • That provoked Jesus, who was teaching in the Temple, to cry out, "Yes, you think you know me and where I’m from, but that’s not where I’m from. I didn’t set myself up in business. My true origin is in the One who sent me, and you don’t know him at all.  John 7:28 {The Message} – and you don’t know him at all… – what a chilling indictment.  Lord I want to know you more.

Send some love to Latvia’s orphans

We have a customer, Brooke, who ordered a bible verse decal from us for her home.  In working with her, we’ve learned a few interesting tidbits about their life.  Her family has a burdened heart for orphans in Latvia in the former Soviet Union.  Although they’re not full time they have chosen to devote their time and resources to helping children in need they may never meet.

One of the things Jodi and I have been talking and praying about lately is what is God’s purpose for us and our business.  We feel that one thing we can do with our business is to be an encouragement to others in their walk with Christ.  Being able to have scripture on a wall can be a great reminder and encourager – so we’ve tried to offer more and more scripture decals and products.  You won’t believe the stories we hear from folks that order a “For this child I prayed” decal – so many people have had such a difficult time having children and this “cute” decal or sign was a “neat” product to us, but for someone who had a difficult time conceiving or was blessed with a special needs child it had a special meaning that we can’t even begin to comprehend.

That said, go check out Brooke’s blog post about what they’re doing for Latvian orphans.  They’re doing a giveaway to fund their endeavor – maybe you’d like to participate?  There’s even an iPod touch….

Announcing… photo canvas! (& Cyber Monday coupon code)

I hope you had a great Thanksgiving.  I know we have so much to be thankful for.  I take it for granted all too often – its awesome to live in a country to be the first to issue a national holiday devoted to gratefulness.

One of the things I’m most grateful for this season is small and local businesses.  Don’t get me wrong, I don’t really have a problem with a big box store – heck, I shop a lot of them, but I’ve realized more this year than ever, there is a whole other world out there beyond the few selections available at a big box.  Think about it, the typical big box carries a wide variety of items, but there may only be a couple of items in each category to choose from – enter small business.  Small businesses tend to specialize in a certain area and really explore every avenue of that segment.  For example:  we buy picture hangers from big box stores to add to our signs.  After being a little frustrated at the selection, we found a small businessman online who specializes in picture framing supplies – he has everything and a ton of sizes, colors, shapes, etc.  Sure, we can’t buy lumber, a freezer, and Christmas cookies from him – but we get a great selection of sawtooth hangers from him that the big box doesn’t carry.

One of our newest favorite places is a local Asian grocer.  We stopped by on a whim and found some of the coolest stuff. They gave us a few quick pointers on making Pad Thai – yum!  I could eat some right now.

American Express is hosting Small Business Saturday to encourage and educate folks on the benefits of small businesses.  Did you know that on average 68% of the money you spend with a small business stays in the community?  Guess who’s economy that helps?  YOURS!  and mine.

In addition to Black Friday and Small Business Saturday there’s Cyber Monday where plenty of folks shop online from home or work.  We appreciate that as well, as the vast majority of our sales are online.  In anticipation of Cyber Monday and as a big ol’ Thank You to all our peeps out there we’d like to introduce you to a new product offering we have.
